The Kvarner Gulf (known as The Kvarner Bay) is a bay in the northern Adriatic Sea, located between the Istrian peninsula and the Croatian Littoral mainland. The bay is notable for its depth (more than 100 meters), which allows for the city of Rijeka, at its northernmost point, to have a seaport that can accommodate capsized ships. The Kvarner coastline is extremely indented and has 4 larger islands - Krk, Cres, Lošinj, Rab and a number of other small ones; all of them providing a Robinsonian atmosphere and a shelter for fisherman boats and sailboats. Kvarner features a 160-year-long tourist tradition, which it acquired thanks to its originality and diversity of offer.
Kvarners’ fifteen beaches are adorned with the European Blue Flag, awarded only to the cleanest beaches with the highest quality of seawater.
